I am wondering how white teeth can get with bleaching. For instance, would it be possible for me to bleach my teeth as white as my eyeballs are?
Elinor
Dear Elinor,
Hmmm….that is an interesting question. Whether or not your teeth can get as white as your eyeballs would likely depend on how white your eyeballs are. There is a limit to how white teeth can get, but we do know they can get extraordinarily white. Another consideration with teeth whitening is you can’t define specific color results. You can get close, but there isn’t a way to know when to stop to get it that “perfect” shade to match something.
If you are wanting to match to something specific, like a white t-shirt or even your eyeballs, then your best bet is to get porcelain veneers. These can be prescribed to a specific color. You’ll want to bleach anyway because your adjacent teeth will need to be close in color to your porcelain veneers if you want them to blend well. Plus, it saves you from placing veneers on your bottom teeth which would be massively more expensive.
The key for you is to get a great cosmetic dentist and they can work with you on the best way to proceed.
