Dental anxiety affects nearly 15% of Americans, many of whom refer to themselves as dental cowards. In Hoffman Estates, Dr. William Becker and his team cater to cowards. We have helped many formerly anxious patients relax and enjoy their visits.
How We Cater to Cowards
Your arrival
We’ve created a relaxing atmosphere. Our waiting area is bright, clean, and modern. Each time you have an appointment with us, you’ll be warmly greeted. If you’re a new patient, our receptionist will escort you on a tour of our office to help you become familiar and comfortable with your surroundings.
Your appointment
Lengthy wait times can create anxiety. We respect your appointment time and are prompt in taking you to a treatment room. After you’re seated in a room, we have several ways to continue ensuring your comfort and reducing your anxiety.
- Listening – We carefully listen to your concerns about your oral health, the reasons for your dental anxiety, and what we can do to respect and address it. We also welcome your questions.
- Pressure-free treatment options – Your treatment options will be explained to you, but we will never pressure you to receive any dental procedure.
- Communication – Before you receive treatment, we explain what will take place and why. And we’ll keep you informed throughout the appointment.
Sedation Dentistry
Sedation dentistry is safe and effective for helping you relax and have productive dental visits. Dr. Becker can provide you with nitrous oxide to breathe in during your appointment. You’ll be relaxed and calm throughout your dental treatment. Visit our sedation dentistry page for more information on this option.
Dr. Becker is a gentle dentist. His skill and techniques allow him to deliver painless injections and treatment. He has helped many of our patients become so comfortable that their overall anxiety is reduced. Most of them no longer require sedation dentistry—and they have pleasant dental experiences.
